About Sam Woodward
Sam is responsible for Lutron’s customer education programmes on control of lighting and shading, in Europe.
Prior to two decades in lighting he worked in the entertainment industry, both as a performer (he is former opera-singer), and as a film/TV special-effects engineer (credits include James Bond and Gladiator) and in stadium Entertainment: touring with #1 pop-acts in the 00’s.
Sam is a published author, with titles including the “IET Code of Practice for the Application of LED Lighting Systems” and the “IET Code of Practice for Connect Systems Integration in Buildings”.
Sam is a CEDIA volunteer, trainer, and a member of the CEDIA Global Technology Council, with responsibility for Standards and Best Practices. He regularly writes for industry publications, and frequently speaks at global conferences, or as part of educational programmes at trade events; explaining the benefits of automating the control of lighting to achieve the right environment.
